Design cemetery in historic landscape

The municipality of Ouddorp asked Brons + partners to make a design for a new cemetery. The design is based on three principles. First the plan is integrated into the historic landscape of the schurvelingen; a pattern of landscape elements, like small dikes with plantation. Second, new nature development is integrated in the central area and offers an area for contemplation. Third, the design meets with the functional requirements of the municipality.

In cooperation with two regional and local organizations who take care of the landscape and nature Brons and partners set up the design.

De cemetery will be developed in 50 years. Only the realized graves will be intensively maintained. The other fields and dune valley will be maintained extensively, which creates an optimal situation for nature development.
