In preparation for a new vision for the rural area of Soest, the municipality of Soest has asked Brons + partners landscape architects to identify and visualize the existing values and the current developments and trends within the rural area of this municipality. This question has resulted in the production of seven panels with different subjects, such as the formation of the landscape, cultural heritage, recreation, tourism and the built environment.
These panels have been exhibited in the City Hall of Soest and provided further information during three lectures on the past, the present and the future of this rural area. The diverse landscape around Soest, with the agricultural Eemvalley, the edges of the village of Soest and the beautiful forests and moorlands, has formed a landscape perspective for these lectures. Rudy Brons has provided one of the lectures, on the diversity of the outskirts of Soest. The lectures and the exhibition formed a starting point for the process to develop a new vision on this rural area.
