Brons + partners participated in the contest �Reset het Heetmanplein�, issued by Bosch Architectuur Initiatief in association with the city Den Bosch and BNA.
The square, originally designed by Heetman, forms the south entrance of the former fortress Den Bosch.
Our contribution to the contest Vesting �Boven Water� (Fortress �Above Water�) brings in a modern way history to life. Foundations of a medieval building are made visible to create an open and comfortable place to meet and recreate. The square will change in a recognizable entrance of Den Bosch.
Two fountains, restoration of the �Ravelijn� and the organization of the banks of the Dieze are part of the new entrance Vesting �Boven Water�.
The striking waterfront welcomes the visitor, offers space for relaxation, and organizes the urban structure. Vesting �Boven Water� is a clear association to the history of Den Bosch.
